The check
Where does your company stand?
Part 1 scores your data today. Part 2 asks about your tools, concerns and goal, and picks the path. The radar fills in as you answer.
The scale
Four levels of data maturity.
6 areas, 0 to 3 points each: storage, quantities, estimating, access, ai, independence. The total places you on one of four levels.
- 0–5 points
Data in the dark
Knowledge lives in people, PDFs and inboxes. The upside is big, and the first steps are cheap.
First move
Pick one recurring report and get its data out of the models with the free converters.
- 6–10 points
Islands of data
The data exists, but every project and tool is its own island. Manual hand-offs eat your week.
First move
Automate quantity extraction for one model type with an n8n pipeline.
- 11–14 points
Connected
Your pipelines work. Now it is about scale, quality and putting the data in front of decision-makers.
First move
Add automated model validation against your requirements before every hand-over.
- 15–18 points
Data-driven
You are ahead of most of the industry. The gains now come from custom modules and agents tuned to your processes.
First move
Build custom ERP modules where off-the-shelf software forces workarounds.
Tailored plan
Seven optimization paths.
Your six-month goal picks the path. Each one pairs chapters of the Data-Driven Construction book with a workshop module and a topic for a first call.

- 02Tools and strategies
A list of what fixes what is slowing you down.
- 03A free 1:1 session
An invite to discuss your case on Zoom, Teams or Meet.
- 04A prototype, if you choose
A PoC that shows how your process could be automated.
How long does the check take?
10 questions, about 3 minutes. Your result appears on screen right away; you do not need to enter an e-mail to see it.
How is the score calculated?
Each of the first 6 questions scores one area from 0 to 3, so the total runs from 0 to 18 and maps to one of 4 levels: Data in the dark (0–5), Islands of data (6–10), Connected (11–14), Data-driven (15–18).
What do the goal questions change?
They do not change the score. Your six-month goal picks one of seven optimization paths: chapters of the book to read, a workshop module and a topic for a first call. Tools and concerns go with your report so we can reply to your case.
What happens with my answers?
Your individual answers stay in your browser unless you send the result by e-mail. If you do, they go to our team so we can reply with a written report. The newsletter is a separate, optional checkbox.
Who reads the result?
DataDrivenConstruction, an international team and community working on open construction data since 2021. We read every check and reply with a short report: your level, what to fix first and the free tools that fit.
Is the check free?
Yes. The check, the result and the book chapters it points to are free; the book is a free PDF. Paid engagements such as workshops or custom projects are always scoped to your company first.
Can we take it as a team?
Yes. Have several people take the check on their own and compare the results. Different answers to the same question usually show where the data hand-offs break.
